Gisborne-based Civil Project Solutions (CPS) is celebrating its 10-year anniversary this month. Since 2013, CPS has delivered over $1B of public and private works through civil project management and engineering services across Tairāwhiti and now Aotearoa.

In recent years, with a South Island office now Queenstown, CPS has a permanent presence in Wellington, Hawkes Bay and can mobilise around the country.

Owners Russell and Gretchen Moylan say that without a doubt, their most successful project has been their people.

“When we look back over the last decade, it’s made up of amazing moments involving our staff, clients and contractors.

“We’ve always tried to exceed the expectations of our clients and the team has really taken on this mantra and made it our culture.”

At 24 years old, Zac Borrie is one of the youngest project managers at CPS and started as a cadet after university.

“It’s just a great place to work,” said Zac.

“To be able to come back from uni and work at a place like CPS in my hometown is awesome.”

CPS has been the behind some of Tairāwhiti’s largest private and public projects, but it’s also a major supporter of our community, contributing over $200k to a variety of local organisations through sponsorship and donations to date.

“We are quite staunch about the fact we’re local and this means employing and supporting local people,” said Russell.

“If our community is strong, we are strong. It’s what drivesus.”

He says there are special projects that stand out.

“I think we will always remember the delivery of the PGF recovery investment into the local road network,” he said.

“Delivering a record amount of road upgrades like we did showed when we come together, Tairāwhiti contractors can deliver for our people and that we have a great depth of local talent and expertise,” he said.

Oakview Subdivision is Gisborne’s first subdivision in over20 years.

“We are extremely proud of Oakview. Not only about the standard of work, but also what it means for the community. To play such an important role in Gisborne’s growth is something we will always remember.”

When asked about what the future holds, they said, “As long as we are delivering quality solutions for our clients, we’ll go where the work is and as always, we’ll have a great time doing it.”
